Joining Trinity
Anyone who puts their trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desires to join a fellowship of Christian believers is invited to become a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. Membership is provided through letter of transfer, re-affirmation of faith, or confession of faith. Additionally, to join Trinity or any Presbyterian church, one must either be baptized or have previously been baptized in another Christian church, either as a child, youth, or an adult. Trinity offers the opportunity to join several Sundays a year during a worship service at which time baptism would be administered if the candidate for membership has not been previously baptized.
A series of orientation classes for prospective new members are offered two or three or times a year, depending upon need. Participants will meet in the chapel from 9:40 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. for three consecutive Sundays and on the fourth Sunday, class members can join during the worship service. Anyone interested in learning more about Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Church (USA), and Trinity’s many ministries and activities is welcome to attend any or all of the orientation sessions. Please contact the Church office by telephone (703-437-5500) or email (office@trinityherndon.org), or indicate your interest on the Ritual of Friendship pad found at the aisle end of each pew. For more information, contact Vicki Lyon (vickilyon@comcast.net), Jackie Spain (jacklockspain@aol.com), or Pastor Stephen Smith-Cobbs (pastor@trinityherndon.org).
Even if you are not ready to join Trinity at this time, you are always welcome in our fellowship and may participate in our programs and service projects.
